About Bill Ennis

Bill Served in the Navy as a Seabee at the end of the Korean war. While stationed in Japan, Bill met and married his 1st wife of 44 years, Mieko Shoji (passed) of Sendai, Japan. After serving, Bill attended Mankato State college and obtained his B.S. for Teaching and then with Mieko’s urging and support, went on to complete his master’s in education Bill became a successful teacher and beloved elementary school principal for approximately 30 years in the South Washington County School District in Minnesota.

Bill and Mieko loved, sponsored, influenced,and helped raise several children, including Mike Ennis, Tomomi Shoji, Lonny Ennis, Hiromi Watanabe Anderson and others. They provided a loving home offering a great place to grow up and learn! Part of this is why he is so many of his niece’s and nephew’s favorite uncle!

He met his second wife Nila Cook Sivill Ennis (passed) and they were married for nearly 20 years. They traveled made great friends, were dearly loved and survived by 5 children:
Brian Bigger & Beverly - FL, Toni Sivill Krause & Wayne - AZ, Brian Sivill - AZ/NE, Scott Sivill - MO, and Jay Sivill & Aliesha - NE. He’s also survived by 12 adoring grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. 

Bill was a handy guy who loved building, the outdoors, hunting, fishing, 4 wheeling, and being out on the water in one of his boats. He shared this love with many people, teaching the young ones and infamously spending time with his best friend in work and play, Jim Luoma. These two spent many eventful times together and always until 5:00! 

Bill was loved by so many, made positive impacts on all our lives, and gave himself to those he knew and loved. He was also a caring, fair and intelligent person who willbe missed deeply by all of us. We love you, Son, Brother, Dad, Uncle, Grandpa, Friend, Bill.
